Real understanding. Real support.

Hi, I’m Naomi —

I’m a Registered Social Worker & trauma therapist, offering in-person sessions in Kelowna and virtual therapy across British Columbia.

I specialize in supporting first responders navigating trauma, moral injury, burnout, and the weight of critical incidents. I also work with the stress that shows up outside of work — in relationships, family life, and the challenge of switching out of “work mode.” If you’re feeling overwhelmed, on edge, or disconnected from yourself, you don’t have to carry it alone.

What Makes Me Different

Therapy for first responders should be clear, practical, and built for the realities of both work and life.

  • First hand experience

I understand the culture, language, and realities of first responder life. You won’t have to explain the basics of the job — we can get straight to what’s impacting you.

  • Trauma informed & practical

I use evidence-based trauma therapies, but always in a way that’s down-to-earth and usable in real life. Sessions are about tools you can carry with you, not just talk.

  • Support beyond the job

I recognize that the stress doesn’t stop at the end of a shift. Together, we’ll address how work impacts your relationships, family life, and sense of self — so you feel steadier both on and off duty.

FAQ’s

  • I offer individual therapy to adults (18+) in-person in Kelowna, BC and virtually across British Columbia. I offer 50-minute sessions ($150) and 80-minute sessions ($225) to accommodate different needs and preferences.

  • My office is located at 347 Leon Ave#206 in Kelowna, BC. There is parking outside of building or in the parkade on 345 Lawrence Avenue.

  • My schedule isn’t the same every week, but I do my best to offer flexible appointment times that fit your needs. If you’re balancing shift work or unpredictable hours, I’ll work with you to find times that make therapy possible. If you don’t see a time that suits you, don’t hesitate to reach out.

  • I offer direct billing to a wide range of insurance providers to make accessing therapy easier for you. Some of the plans I can bill directly include:

    • Manulife (Kelowna Fire & Dispatch)

    • Canada Life (West Kelowna Fire)

    • Canada Life - PSHCP (RCMP Dispatch)

    • Desjardins Insurance

    • Simply Benefits

    • Blue Cross (Veterans Affairs only)

At this time, I am not able to direct bill for BCEHS, so clients will need to submit claims themselves.

  • The first session is about getting to know you. We’ll discuss relevant history, past experiences with therapy (if any), the challenges you’re facing, and your goals for the work ahead. It’s also a time to go over policies and practical matters, as well as for you to ask questions or raise any concerns.

This session is also your chance to get a sense of my style and approach, and to decide whether working together feels like a good fit — one of the most important aspects of therapy is feeling comfortable with your therapist.

You don’t need to prepare anything in advance. Just come ready to share what feels most important to you. You’re welcome to jot down thoughts or questions, and we can revisit any topic as needed. We’ll move at a pace that feels safe and manageable, laying the groundwork for the work ahead.

Let’s get in touch.

Fill out the form below and I'll be in touch soon to answer any questions and schedule a free 15-minute consult or initial session.
